Welcome New Friends!

Welcome to my blog! Every week I spend some time scouring through the grocery store ads trying to find the best deals. I thought since I was already at it and writing down my findings for my own use, that I would share what I came up with and help others along the way.

I basically will post mostly meat and produce sales but sometimes if it seems notable I will post other sale items. I find that Sams Club, Costco, and Walmart generally have better deals on boneless skinless chicken breasts, pantry items, household items, dairy, etc. But the grocery stores usually have better sale prices on their other meats and produce, and lately cereals. However once in a while grocery stores will actually have a better sale price on typical things I buy at Sams Club, so I'll post it here as well. Meat and produce are usually the bulk of my shopping because I cook mostly from scratch to save on money and because it's healthier as well. Also when you buy seasonal meat and produce you get the best flavor as well as prices.

Some stores may have the same item on sale, but one will be less than the other. I go through the ads to find out which store has the better deal on the same item, or which store has items on sale that other stores don't have posted for sale at all. For example, a few weeks ago both Stater Bros. and Ralphs had Tri-Tip Roasts on sale, but you will only see the Tri-Tip listed in the Ralphs posting because it's the better deal. So that way I know what to buy or stock up on at each store. Trust me, it does save a lot of money going to multiple stores if you can. You don't have to do it all in one day, you have a whole week to hit up each store.
Although I don't personally shop at Food 4 Less, I thought I would post their sales as well for those of you that do. However, if they have the same item for sale in one of the four main stores (Stater Bros., Albertsons, Vons, Ralphs) I will still post it in the main stores posting as well as Food 4 Less, but I will make note if it's a better deal at either of those two stores.
I use the ads I get in the mail here in Corona, Ca. I'm not exactly sure if all areas in Southern California have the same ads, so please, if you're not in Corona, please double check prices when shopping and don't go solely by my blog until you know if the ads are the same where you live.
I hope this is helpful to everyone. I know how long it takes me to go through all the ads, so I know not everyone has time to do that. I make it easy for you. Scroll down to see what's on sale this week! Enjoy!!

P.S. If you want to print out each stores posting, simply click on the title post and it will open up a page with just that post so you can easily print just that page.

P.P.S Feel free to leave a comment and let me know how you well this is working for you, or if you'd like to see something different. Thanks!

Summing Up This Weeks Deals!

We've got some decent deals on meat going on this week, thank you very much Super Bowl Sunday!  Some nice deals on soda and cereals too!  Be sure to read on.

Stater Brothers is once again the big winner in my book this week.  Check out that price for their New York Steaks!  I was so excited about Vons having them on sale for $3.47/pound until I came across the Stater Bros. ad for $2.97/pound.  Great prices on ribs too, beef and pork.  And check out the chicken and turkey, yikes, stock up city!  Not much in the way of super produce prices, but no biggie, just hit up Henry's or Food 4 Less if you have one of them near you.

Vons has some great prices on chicken and produce, but it's their MISC. section that I'm more excited about.  Check out that price on cereal, beat that Sams, Walmart, and Costco!  There is a caution to that one though.  I went to pick up some of those cereals today and not all of them rung up the sale price of $1.50.  After checking my receipt in the car, I had to go back in the store to have them double check the prices.  Yikes, what an adventure!  I'm so glad I was without the kiddles in tow, otherwise that 30 minutes or so would have been a nightmare!  I had to go and show them the prices on the shelves and they had to compare each and every thing on my receipt to make sure it matched up.  Luckily I walked out with the difference, but boy was that not fun.  The receipts are super confusing, so maybe you can ask the cashier as their ringing up if you're getting the sale price.  Just an FYI.

Ralphs is breaking my heart lately.  I wish they'd bring back some of those super great meat and produce deals they had going on last year.  The only thing really worth going there this week is for the chicken and beef ribs, but no need to make a special trip there, because you can get the same prices on those at Vons and Stater Bros.

Albertsons doesn't really have any freezer stocking deals this week.  There is that amazing price for the split chicken breast, but bummer, there is a limit of 1!  No stocking the freezer with that deal.  Like Vons, Albertson's big thing this week is their MISC. section as well.  Great prices on soda, cereal, cream cheese, and diapers!

Food 4 Less has some amazing deals on produce, I must say.  They are putting even Henry's to shame on some of their sale prices.  If you have one of these near you, be sure to stop by.

So I hit up my friend Henry's today on their double ads day.  I walked out of there with avocados, oranges, tangelos, bananas, cilantro, roma tomatoes, lettuce, green onions, brown onions, red onions, and granny smith apples, all for barely $20!  Yep, Henry's is my friend!  If you would like to see if you have a Henry's near by you click HERE.

So what do you all think of these weeks prices?  Have you been saving money, if so how much?  Please feel free to comment and let us all know.

Welcome New Friends!

Welcome to my blog! Every week I spend some time scouring through the grocery store ads trying to find the best deals. I thought since I was already at it and writing down my findings for my own use, that I would share what I came up with and help others along the way.

Summing Up This Weeks Deals!

Well I have to say that I'm not super impressed with this weeks deals.  I've seen much much better deals recently, so I guess I've gotten kinda spoiled.  No worries though, like hopefully most of you, I have a stock of meat in the freezer from previous deals that we'll have no problem living off of.  In fact, it's time to start really using up this stuff so I can make room for future deals!

Stater Brothers has some ok deals on London Broil and Chuck Steak, not really very freezer worthy, but a good deal nonetheless.  However, their chicken Leg Quarters are a great deal and dare I say maybe even freezer worthy if your family will eat these up.  Their pork is a pretty darn decent price too.  Now it may be worth it to go to Staters if not for anything else but for their Broccoli and Green Cabbage prices.  It looks like our family will be good with the coniferous veggies this week. They also have some of my families favorite cereals for a GREAT price...$1.49 each!  You must buy 4 in a single transaction, and you have to use the in ad coupon.  No worries if you already threw your ads away, simply pick one up as you walk in the store!

Vons has a few decent prices this week.  Nothing to get too excited over like their ground beef last week, but pretty decent anyway.  If you like pork then you'll find a couple of good deals.  But their potatoes are a must grab if you'll be there Sat or Sun.  However please note that the price of potatoes are a better deal at Ralphs this week, but if you don't make it to Ralphs this is the next best thing.  You'll also want to grab some cereal and Doritos while you're there!

About the only thing that Ralphs has going for them this week are their 10 pound bags of Russet potatoes.  It's not really worth running to that store however if it's just for the potatoes.  You might as well grab them from Vons if you'll already be there during the weekend.

Albertsons really has the only freezer stocking worthy deal this week in my opinion.  They have their whole chickens on sale for $.69 cents/pound and thats a great price for those of you who need to stock their freezer with these.  Click HERE for some recipes if you don't know what to do with these little gems.  They also have some great cereal deals going on this week too!

Food 4 Less always has the some of the best prices.  You simply have to check out the ad to see what I mean. Hello 20 cents a pound oranges!!

Of course there is always my little gem Henry's!  They have locally grown produce so it's usually cheaper and fresher.  And for those of you that don't already know, if you shop there on Wednesdays you'll find the most deals.  It's a double ads day.  You'll be able to get the sale prices from last week as well as this coming weeks.  If the same item was on sale last week as well as this week, you'll get the better price.  If you want to know if there is a Henry's near you click HERE.  This week I'm happy to see that they have Natural Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts on sale for $1.77/pound.  This is the same price that Sam's club sells their Members Mark brand boneless skinless chicken breast for, but since I'm already going to be at Henry's, I'm going to grab the all natural ones there rather than Sams.  I think that the "natural" part means that they are hormone free, so that makes me happy.

So what do you all think of these weeks prices?  Have you been saving money, if so how much?  Please feel free to comment and let us all know.

Don't forget that you can win a FREE years worth of groceries.  Click HERE to see how.

Summing Up This Weeks Deals!

Wow, there are a couple of really great freezer stocking worthy deals going on this week!  Let me start off by telling you to RUN, don't walk, but RUN as fast as you can to Vons and stock up on that ground beef!  It's a really rare thing to see this kind of price.  So in the next few weeks as others are paying a premium for their ground beef, you'll be sitting pretty because you stocked your freezer at the lowest possible price!   Their price on the 5# bag of russet potatoes is pretty darn tootin' good too!  But don't forget to check out those cereal prices....only $1 for Life or Captain Crunch??!!    But keep in mind where you see that there is a limit of 20, that it's a combo of all those items, not just the $1 or $1.50 or $2 items.  I haven't seen a lower price on the Ice Cream and the Goldfish cracker either, so if you feel like a little spluge, there you go!  Yep, I'm lovin' Vons this week!!

If you want to hit up Albertsons on Saturday or Sunday you'll get a great deal on those split chicken breasts.  Too bad they have a limit of one, so you can't really stock your freezer...bummer!  I'm a bit excited about the Campbells Chunky soup price they have this week.  My husband and kids really like to have those on hand for the days that I can't make them a lunch or dinner.  $1 a piece is a smokin' deal, however, be sure to click on the link that will give you a couple of sweet coupons, because $.50 is an even hotter deal!

Some of you that are running low of whole chickens in your freezer will be happy to know that Stater Bros. has those wonderful Foster Farms whole chickens for only $.77 cents/pound!  Time to reload!  Don't know what to do with whole chickens?  Click HERE for a few great recipes.  They also have some pretty nice deals on pork so if your family likes pork be sure to check those out.  Those of you with New Years resolutions to eat better will appreciate the ground turkey they have on sale.  It's a great price!  The navel oranges are a sweet price, no pun intended so be sure to grab some while you're there.  There are a few cereals on sale for a nice price too, so be sure to grab those as well for your pantry!  Now about that salmon!  $2.99/pound is a really great price for fresh fish and certainly freezer stocking worthy!  However, keep in mind that this is basically a whole fish minus the head and tail.  You'll need to either cook it whole, cut it into steaks or slice it in half, and you'll have all the bones to deal with.  If this doesn't bother you, then you'll need to definitely grab some of these to stock in your freezer.

Ralphs doesn't impress me at all this week.  If you're not already going there, then I wouldn't bother making a special trip there this week.   They have some nice buy one get one free prices on some roasts, but I couldn't tell ya what the prices are going to be, so they may or may not be great prices.  For the pork lovers in your family, they do have a couple of really great deals on ham!......and that is all.

You may want to make a special trip to Food 4 Less this week.  They have a few freezer stocking worthy deals on chicken and pork chops, and their produce prices are pretty darn great!

Oh and then there is my Henry's! I've said it before, and I'll say it everytime....I love me some Henry's!  Seriously check out those produce prices, and it's mostly locally grown so it's fresher than what you'll find at the big stores.  Check and see if you're lucky enough to have a Henry's near you!

All in all, Vons is the winner in my book this week.  If you can only go to one store this week, make it Vons!  Grab some cereal, goldfish crackers, and ice cream, and for the love of Pete, please stock your freezers with ground beef!  You'll be so glad you did!

Have a great grocery week everyone!

Although I don't personally shop at Fresh & Easy and Food 4 Less, I thought I would post their sales as well for those of you that do. However, if they have the same item for sale in one of the four main stores (Stater Bros., Albertsons, Vons, Ralphs) I will still post it in the main stores posting as well as Fresh & Easy and Food 4 Less, but I will make note if it's a better deal at either of those two stores.

Thanks!

This Weeks Review

This week is a bit disappointing as far as freezer stocking worthy deals. If you've got some good meats stocked in your freezer you might want to just use those this week. Otherwise the prices on the half chicken breast and thighs at Stater Bros. this week are very good, even freezer stocking worthy if you feel the need. I've seen these at better prices, but not for a while, so if you want to go ahead and stock up on these. They also have their Top Sirloin Steaks and ground beef at good deals too, and grab some of those cereals while you're there too as it works out to much better prices than the club stores like Sams and Costco. Hey if you got coupons for those brands you'll do all the better!

As far as Vons goes, they have that great price on Tri Tip roasts. We've been seeing similar prices on these the last few weeks from various stores, so if you haven't already stocked the freezer with these, go ahead and grab some. These are from Vons' Ranchers Reserve selection, which is supposed to be a better more tender meat. If you have eating better as a New Years resolution, you might want to stock up on that ground turkey. I haven't seen a much better price on that in a long time. Grab some mandarins while your there as well as some roma tomatoes and avocados and make yourself some yummy guacamole! And hey if you'll be there over the weekend be sure to stock up on your Froot Loops and Rice Krispies!

Ralphs is ehhhh this week. Their pork chops are a great price and they have some nice produce prices, but I see no reason to make an extra trip there this week unless you have one around the corner from you, or you pass by one on the way home.

Albertsons
has a few good meats on sale. Their pork ribs are a sweet deal, and their chicken is a decent price. Again for those of you eating better this year, they have a ground turkey roll that is a better deal than Vons over all, so you may want to stock up on these for your freezer.

Food 4 Less Always has great deals. If you have one near you be sure to check out there great deals! If I had one near me, I'd stock up on those chicken drumsticks, thighs, and leg quarters! Did you see the price of their produce sales this week! Wow! Cucumbers for only $.16 cents each....I can taste the cucumber salad right now!

I always love me some Henry's. Although I think Food 4 Less is giving them a run for their money this week with produce prices, however they do have a few things offered that Food 4 Less doesn't. Check here for a Henry's near you.

I'm working on another blog right now that will tell you what other fabulous deals you can find on the internet as well as ways to earn real money. There's not much to it yet, but if you'd like to check it out click here.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! If you get a moment let us know how much money you're saving buying only these meat and produce sale items. TTFN!!
