Wow, there are a couple of really great freezer stocking worthy deals going on this week! Let me start off by telling you to RUN, don't walk, but RUN as fast as you can to Vons and stock up on that ground beef! It's a really rare thing to see this kind of price. So in the next few weeks as others are paying a premium for their ground beef, you'll be sitting pretty because you stocked your freezer at the lowest possible price! Their price on the 5# bag of russet potatoes is pretty darn tootin' good too! But don't forget to check out those cereal prices....only $1 for Life or Captain Crunch??!! But keep in mind where you see that there is a limit of 20, that it's a combo of all those items, not just the $1 or $1.50 or $2 items. I haven't seen a lower price on the Ice Cream and the Goldfish cracker either, so if you feel like a little spluge, there you go! Yep, I'm lovin' Vons this week!!
If you want to hit up Albertsons on Saturday or Sunday you'll get a great deal on those split chicken breasts. Too bad they have a limit of one, so you can't really stock your freezer...bummer! I'm a bit excited about the Campbells Chunky soup price they have this week. My husband and kids really like to have those on hand for the days that I can't make them a lunch or dinner. $1 a piece is a smokin' deal, however, be sure to click on the link that will give you a couple of sweet coupons, because $.50 is an even hotter deal!
Some of you that are running low of whole chickens in your freezer will be happy to know that Stater Bros. has those wonderful Foster Farms whole chickens for only $.77 cents/pound! Time to reload! Don't know what to do with whole chickens? Click HERE for a few great recipes. They also have some pretty nice deals on pork so if your family likes pork be sure to check those out. Those of you with New Years resolutions to eat better will appreciate the ground turkey they have on sale. It's a great price! The navel oranges are a sweet price, no pun intended so be sure to grab some while you're there. There are a few cereals on sale for a nice price too, so be sure to grab those as well for your pantry! Now about that salmon! $2.99/pound is a really great price for fresh fish and certainly freezer stocking worthy! However, keep in mind that this is basically a whole fish minus the head and tail. You'll need to either cook it whole, cut it into steaks or slice it in half, and you'll have all the bones to deal with. If this doesn't bother you, then you'll need to definitely grab some of these to stock in your freezer.
Ralphs doesn't impress me at all this week. If you're not already going there, then I wouldn't bother making a special trip there this week. They have some nice buy one get one free prices on some roasts, but I couldn't tell ya what the prices are going to be, so they may or may not be great prices. For the pork lovers in your family, they do have a couple of really great deals on ham!......and that is all.
You may want to make a special trip to Food 4 Less this week. They have a few freezer stocking worthy deals on chicken and pork chops, and their produce prices are pretty darn great!
Oh and then there is my Henry's! I've said it before, and I'll say it everytime....I love me some Henry's! Seriously check out those produce prices, and it's mostly locally grown so it's fresher than what you'll find at the big stores. Check and see if you're lucky enough to have a Henry's near you!
All in all, Vons is the winner in my book this week. If you can only go to one store this week, make it Vons! Grab some cereal, goldfish crackers, and ice cream, and for the love of Pete, please stock your freezers with ground beef! You'll be so glad you did!
